Woman Bicyclist Slams Head when hit by E-Biker in Central Park
One was transported to Weill Cornell without regaining consciousness after a collision involving another biker, according to the FDNY. Cops said the injured person was an 18-year-old woman and said an 34 year-old male was the second party in the two-bike collision.

A woman on a Citibike was struck by another motorized e-bike near Cleopatra’s Needle on the east side of Central Park on March 10 and apparently struck her head and rolled into the gutter, according to a witness.
But in a vivid demonstration of the difficulty in obtaining bike accident records in the city, the NYPD said both an 18-year-old woman and a 34 year-old male were transported by EMS to Weill Cornell.
The FDNY, on the other hand said only one person was transported, and did not identify the gender, only that an injured person was transported.
And in the FDNY report, it said EMS transported a victim who was “unconscious” at the time. That is suggestive of a potentially serious head trauma injury, but there was no update from the FDNY on the status of the victim. The NYPD said both victims were in “stable condition.”
The office of public information at FDNY said it does not share patient’s condition or even gender.
The most vivid account came on social media where one poster said there was a “serious bike accident in Central Park.” That poster said the “young woman” appeared to have rolled to the side of the bike path and was unconsciour after her grey Citi bike collided with another motorized e-bike driven by the male rider. He said the male rider was sitting up when he passed.
He also said it appeared that neither the young woman nor the man were wearing a bike helmet. He was one the scene shortly after the collision. He said a crowd has gathered around the scene of the accident and EMS responded.
Central Park has its own police precinct and EMS ambulances but calls to the Central Park EMS yielded no further information.
In Oct. 2022, a woman jogger was critically injured when she was struck by a bicyclist.
