    Man Steals Kids’ Jeans from Gap

    A female employee of the Gap store at 1988 Broadway near West 68th St. reported that at 8:50 p.m. on Thursday, October 6, a 37-year-old man entered the location and removed merchandise from a table, placing the items inside a brown box. He then left the store without paying, fleeing northbound on an electric scooter. Police searched the neighborhood but couldn’t find the suspect. The stolen items included 36 pairs of kids’ jeans totaling $1,860.

    Senior iPad User Scammed

    A 79-year-old female Upper West Side resident told police that at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, October 7, she was at home using her iPad when a popup message appeared saying that her iPad had been hacked. The senior called a phone number given and was told that her credit card account had been compromised and she should call Chase Bank. A woman allegedly at Chase said that $6,000 had been taken from the senior’s account and she needed to buy Target Gift Cards to recover the funds. The victim bought cards totaling $1,050 and gave the serial numbers over the phone to a man named Dennis Ray. She canceled her credit card only to discover that the $6,000 had NOT been taken from her account.

    Pickpocket Boosts Woman’s Wallet

    A 58-year-old woman reported that at 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 8, she was drinking at Manny’s Bistro at 225 Columbus Ave. near West 70th St. when a 39-year-old woman told her that she had dropped something. As the 58-year-old was looking to see what she might have dropped, the younger woman went into the victim’s bag and took her wallet. The suspect was last seen fleeing southbound. The items stolen included a Valentino wallet valued at $900 and $350 in cash, along with various credit cards, a Social Security card and insurance card, making a total loss of $1,250.

    More Merchandise Shoplifted from Lululemon Store

    A manager of the Lululemon store at 216 Columbus Ave. at West 70th St. said that at 11:13 a.m. on Sunday, October 9, two men entered the establishment and removed merchandise from shelves and clothing racks before leaving without paying. The items stolen included 40 items of women’s clothing totaling $4,300.
