Man Arrested After 85 y.o. Shoved Onto Rockefeller Center Subway Tracks
The older man, who had been shoved from the station’s southbound platform on the morning of November 15, suffered a knee laceration. An argument, reportedly related to the victim sleeping on a bench, had preceded the incident. Brittan Jones–aged 30 and a Pennsylvania resident–was arrested and charged with assault later that day. He confessed to the crime.

An 85 year-old man was violently shoved onto the tracks at the Rockefeller Center subway station on Wednesday, November 15. The attack–which occurred just before 6 a.m.–had reportedly followed a heated argument. The victim, who was possibly homeless, was said to be sleeping on a bench before the tiff.
Fortunately, no trains were arriving in the station around the time of the shoving. EMS workers were able to help him off the tracks, before transporting him to Mount Sinai West in stable condition. He reportedly suffered a lacerated left knee.
A suspect, 30 year-old Brittan Jones, was taken into custody just after 8 p.m. that same day. According to reports, NYPD officers had found him sitting on a bench in the exact same station that the shoving had occurred in. He was held on $50,000 bail after confessing to the shove, with the Manhattan D.A.’s office deeming him a flight risk due to a home address listed in York, Pennsylvania. Jones faces charges of reckless endangerment and assault.
