Manhattan Cricket Club 226 West 79th StreetTo reach the Manhattan Cricket Club, you enter through the restaurant Burke and Wills, ascend a narrow staircase, walk down a bookcase-lined hallway , and emerge into a British Colonial-themed bar.
Though people are invited to become members at the Manhattan Cricket Club, anyone is welcome to stop in for a drink. “At heart, it's a social club,” says Matilda Boland, who is owner of both the Club and Burke and Wills. The cocktail list features Australian and cricket references; one drink is “The 12th Man,” a reserve player on a cricket team.
