On Jan. 26 at approximately 9:34 p.m., an MTA bus traveling southbound on Fifth Avenue struck a boom lift that was protruding into the roadway in midtown Manhattan, according to a police spokesperson.

On the lift was a 39-year-old worker who police have identified as Vladamir Cruz. [The New York Daily News reported that the worker’s first name is spelled Vladimir.] He was changing the Victoria’s Secret flagship billboard on 51st Street and Fifth Avenue when the accident occurred.
