Apartment Jewelry Heist
A man had thousands of dollars worth of jewelry stolen from his West 67th Street and Columbus Avenue apartment. Police said he was at home with an acquaintance June 11 around 7:30 p.m. When the friend left, the 41-year-old man realized that eight
pieces of jewelry worth $150,000 were missing. The missing jewelry included a $100,000 1920s ladies band with 33 diamonds and a $20,000 man’s diamond ring.
Home Jewelry Heist
Nearly $20,000 worth of jewelry and electronics was taken from a 31-year-old woman’s apartment April 26. Among the most expensive pieces of jewelry were a $5,000 diamond necklace and $5,000 pair of diamond earrings. The burglar also stole an iPod and a portable hard drive. The total cost of the stolen items was $19,250. Police said there were no signs of forced entry in the apartment, on West 75th Street between Columbus and Amsterdam avenues.
Jewelry Stolen in Burglary
A burglar swiped $4,250 worth of jewelry from the apartment of a 77-year-old woman April 14. Police said the woman left her apartment, on West 79th Street between Riverside Drive and West End Avenue, at 12:30 p.m. to run errands. When she returned, the door was ajar and her jewelry was missing. Cops said the burglar stole a $450 pair of earrings, a $900 bracelet, a $1,700 pearl necklace and two bracelets worth $1,200.
Apartment Burglarized
On Nov. 6 at 4 p.m., a woman found thousands of dollars worth of jewelry missing from her apartment on West 69th Street between Columbus Avenue and Central Park West. She noticed that the lock on her front door was open when she tried to enter her apartment. Police said a $500 watch, $5,000 earrings and $200 in cash were missing.
Bound and Robbed
A woman was robbed in her Upper West Side home on Nov. 4 at 3:45 p.m. Police said the robber followed the 42-year-old woman to her home on West 81st Street between Amsterdam and Columbus avenues. When she unlocked her door, he pushed her into the apartment. The robber displayed a knife and tied her hands and feet, according to cops. He made off with jewelry and a laptop.
Widow Loses Jewelry
After the passing of her husband, a 67-year-old woman on Central Park West and West 75th Street called police to report missing jewelry and cash. On July 12, she told police that many people were in her apartment between March and May, around her husband’s death. Her valuables were in an unlocked safe. The value of the 11 pieces of stolen jewelry, which included expensive necklaces and rings, totaled $28,600. Also, $4,000 in cash was reported stolen, according to cops.
