Convenient Robbery
A store clerk at IJ Convenience Store, at 535 Amsterdam Ave. and West 86th Street, notified police after finding the shop ransacked. Police said that sometime between May 2-3, someone popped the front lock of the store and broke the metal gate. Once inside, the burglar stole $500 in cash, 50 cartons of cigarettes and $3,200 in phone cards, cops said.
