Subway Kiosk Assault

Two men mugged and assaulted a subway kiosk employee. Police said that at 6:45 a.m., Jan. 7, a man approached the employee manning the platform kiosk, at the West 66th Street 1 stop, and asked for a pack of cigarettes. Then another man forcibly entered the kiosk, trying to get cash and merchandise. Cops said he punched the employee, a 59-year-old Queens man, in the face. The other mugger, who had a knife, jumped over the counter and grabbed $1,500 in cash, a phone card, 15 cigarette cartons valued at $1,400 and a pack of 20 MetroCards.
