LOCKS OF LOVE DRIVE

By Miranda Katz

Stuyvesant High School is holding its first annual Locks of Love drive on Nov. 18 in its lobby, at 345 Chambers St. Stuyvesant’s Waves of Hope club will be offering haircuts throughout the day. Locks of Love donates wigs made from human hair to children undergoing medical treatment that causes them to lose their hair. The school is looking for support for the girls who are donating their hair—small gifts like coupons for manicures, Starbucks gift certificates or beauty supplies. The school is also accepting donations with checks made out to Stuyvesant High School. For more information, contact Joy Schimmel at 516-359-1635.
