OLLIES SETTLES WITH WORKERS

Tsu Yue Wang, owner of nine Asian food restaurants across the city, has agreed to pay $2.3 million to 813 workers after an investigation by the state Department of Labor. The settlement averages out at just over $2,800 per person. The state agency found that the restaurants, which include Ollies Noodle Shop and Grille at 2315 Broadway and West 84th Street, and Ollies Noodle Shop at 1991 Broadway and West 67th Street, have been underpaying employees for years. This is the largest amount the Labor Department has collected in one case, which began in 2006. The department will also conduct seminars to educate the workers about their rights.
