DOUBTS OVER DEMS’ VP PICK

To the Editor:

John McCain has questioned Barack Obama’s ability to make the right judgment when faced with crucial decisions. He may have a point. I believe Obama’s poor judgment may have cost him the election before even one vote has been cast.
What was his misjudgment? Not asking Hillary Clinton to be his running mate. Here’s a woman who garnered 18 million votes in the primaries (how many did Joe Biden get?) and was never considered for the vice presidency from the get-go. Cast aside like an old shoe. Now, with the amazing Sarah Palin as McCain’s VP choice, Obama’s mistake looms larger-much larger.
I wonder if the Democratic candidate, during a quiet moment late at night, sometimes thinks of the poet John Greenleaf Whittier, who wrote, “Of all sad words of tongue and pen, the saddest are these, it might have been.”
